Who doesn't love a good list of 30 random facts about someone? Here we go!
1. I was born and raised in Oostburg, WI but now reside in Crestwood, IL.
2. I attended Sheboygan Country Christian High School (Sheboygan, WI) where I was a member of the 2002 soccer
team that was crowned state champions! Go Eagles!
3. My college mascot (the Trinity Christian College Troll) is annually listed on ESPN's Top 10 college mascots list.
4. I currently work as a Senior Event Producer, but my dream job is to be a sports cameraman / editor.
5. In my free time I enjoy blogging, playing fantasy football, watching sports and surfing YouTube.
6. I have been fortunate enough to travel abroad to Egypt (2006), Nicaragua (2007) and the Dominican
Republic (2014).
7. I played the trumpet for eight years in grade school and high school.
8. My favorite thing about being a dad is making my daughter giggle or smile at me.
9. If I could eat any food every day for the rest of my life, it would be cheeseburgers.
10. Matt Damon is easily my favorite actor. Especially as Jason Bourne.
11. If I could talk in or listen to one accent forever, it'd be Australian.
12. My personal best in a half marathon is 2:20:20 in 2010.
13. The best concert I've ever been to was by the Dave Matthews Band. They're also my favorite band.
14. The Green Bay Packers are the best professional team on the planet. I'll fight you on it.
15. I met my wife in 2010 while we were both serving in the tech ministry at church. We still work in that
ministry together to this day and have been married for almost five years.
16. My first real job was at the local grocery store. To this day, it still makes me upset to see people leave carts
in the middle of the parking lot. I also am very critical of how the bag boys fill the bags. I'd rather do
it myself.
17. The last book I read cover-to-cover was Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I finished it in 2014 in anticipation of
the movie Jurassic World being released in 2015.
18. I used to have a lisp growing up, but during my freshman year of college it magically disappeared after my
public speaking professor threatened to give me a lower grade because of it.
19. I am the oldest of three kids in my family. My siblings are Erin (29) and Sam (27).
20. Since we've been married, my wife and I have knocked out Fringe, Alias, Lost, Prison Break, Making a Murderer,
Parks & Recreation, & The X-Files from start to finish on Netflix.
21. I'm "that guy" who wears shorts and flip-flops MUCH longer than a normal human should. I credit my thick,
Wisconsin skin for keeping me warm during the cold, Chicago winters.
22. While working at the grocery store in 1999, I shattered my big toe between the freight elevator and the floor
we were coming up to. It's the only broken bone I've ever suffered.
23. From July of 2009 to July of 2010, I created and posted one video per day on YouTube. Here's my channel.
24. Growing up, me and my siblings would collect as many different soda cans as we could and would then race
them down the driveway. We didn't need no interwebs or iPads!
25. To avoid writing papers in high school, me and my buddy Mike would volunteer to make videos for our
history and English classes instead. Our teacher loved them.
26. I acquired the nickname "Nacho" back in high school when I participated in a Spanish class skit and played
a character with that name. It stuck because the skit was done with the girl in our class who had a crush
on EVERYONE - and my buddies wouldn't let me live it down. Still haven't.
27. In my sophomore year of college (2004), me and my roommates started an annual, campus-wide music video
competition. It still exists on campus to this day!
28. In 2008, my roommates and I staged a prank video and posted it on YouTube. We ended up getting paid $250
from MTV and were featured on their show "Pranked!"
29. After college, I worked for a documentary/TV production company and got to work on some awesome projects
about the 1893 World's Fair as well as the Search & Rescue Team of Yosemite National Park.
30. When I was in first grade, I wanted to be an archaeologist. I even brought all my dinosaurs in for show-and-tell.
